Fire dampers are passive fire protection products used to prevent the spread of fire inside ductwork. Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 enforces the inspection and testing of fire and smoke dampers in the UK. If unable to provide evidence of inspection and testing, it may result in prosecution. 

It is imperative fire dampers are inspected and tested annually to ensure they are functioning correctly. We provide service contracts to help clients meet these standards, and allow the building to remain compliant with UK legislation. 

When testing fire dampers, we adhere to the BS9999: 2017 BSI standards, which regulate fire safety in the design, management & use of buildings. We also ensure the compartmentalisation of the fire damper meets the standards set out in DW/145 BESA. This ensures that the fire damper is legally and functionally compliant. 

Method statements and risk assessments will be provided within our RAMS, which will be specifically tailored to each individual client and site. We take health and safety very seriously, ensuring our work is carried out to the highest and safest standard.

After the inspection and testing has been carried out, a detailed survey including specification, photo documentation, and location will be provided. Dampers that are compliant will be passed, and those which require remedial action will be failed. From the survey, we will be able to provide you with an accurate quote for the remedial cost to meet the required legislation and ensure the safety of everyone in your building.
